Life is our greatest trial.
It was August 29, 1829, a most recognizable date to those who call dear St. Charles home. For that was the day the city was founded, the day that two rival families came together for one common goal. It was a small town then, yet over the years technology and man power have shaped the city into what it is today. An elegant historical monument with a touch of modern day architecture, much has changed since the first days of St. Charles’ birth and yet some things never do. The Vladimirs and the Fairchilds have always been butting heads. One family demanding self-worth over the other. Through the generations it has just become common knowledge, political alliances have risen and fallen with the coming of time on their behalf. Men and woman alike have fallen and in their greed and haste for power a darker side was born amongst the shadowed alleyways and piers. This isn’t your regular every day Pleasantville anymore, their is corruption around every turn. The good citizens of St. Charles never know when they see blue lights in the rear-view mirror if it will be more than a routine stop. Just over a year ago rumors started that the Mafia has set up residence in St. Charles. Some even think they have infiltrated into the police force, creating their own network of crime. Silently the mob boss, Hakken Luther has taken the reins of St. Charles and began taking control.
With crime and extortion running rampant throughout the city the every day person has had to do their fair share of protecting themselves. The Police Department is under heavy pressure to clean up and correct. Which is a difficult task, especially since a lot of the corruptions is spilling out from the PD itself. New officers have been transferred in, a special unit under the lead of Captain Safiya is being created to help weed out the corruption in the department. ATF and Federal agents are slowly finding there way into the city, adding a new threat to the already paranoid mafia boss Hakken Luther. Much stands in the way of the secretive task force, in house oppositions and that from the street, and from elected officials. Lets not forget the constant political battle that has arisen in Xavier Vladimir’s stepping down from the seat of Senator, the many family ties and relationships surrounded by secrets and lies from haunted pasts. The struggle over the multi-million dollar Diamond Corporation being renewed at the new Mrs. Vladimir has finally passed on to her younger daughters. The more ambitious citizens are rising up, the wolves are coming out to see what benefits they can reap. The city is turning into chaos as new alliances are being made, schemes for power, schemes of murder, and the higher demands of living and surviving are heightened. Where is that fine point from which shadow turns to light? A question only individuals can answer for them selves, in the pleasant city of St. Charles.
